| Thanks for visiting my website.
About me: while I started taking pictures at the age of 14 with a canon manual slr, I have been a professional freelance photographer for about the last 4 years, and my work has been published on hundreds of medias, paper brochures, books, web, etc. Of course most of the times my images are bought by clients belonging to the travel industry, but images have been used also for educational, scientific, or advertsing purposes and much more.
My work: Unlike what people often think, shooting travel photography is not an easy task. It takes patience to find and study the best locations and I often have to go back several times at different hours (often either very early morning or late afternoon!) to catch the best ligthing conditions. I try to capture classic iconic shots as well as more interesting perspectives and cuts from different angles, aiming to cover all the possible needs for different clients, as an image used for advertising purposes is often very different from one used for a travel magazine ! In addition I try to capture different points of view in order to supply agencies the best possible selection for every subject.
When photographing persons, I try to estabilish a closer contact when possibile, which often gives as a result images with a more personal touch and feeling and/or a more relaxed attitude of the model. Model releases are available for some of my images.
Equipment and technical details: for all the people interested in technical details, my equipment is comprised of a Canon EOS 5D camera with the following lenses: a 17-40mm F4.0 USM Ultra Wide Angle, a 24-105 F4 USM L IS, a 70-300 DO IS zoom lens. All lenses are manufactured by Canon.
I have a canon eos 400D as a backup and in the past I have used a Canon Eos 10D and 20D and I also own an old Canon EOS 30 camera body. Some pictures on this website were taken with this glorious camera, mostly on Fuji Velvia 50, Provia, and Kodak 100VS slides.
I don't use any special filter except for a Circular Polarizer on each lens when needed.
All the scans from slides (except the digital shots of course) come from a Nikon SuperCoolscan 4000 ED Film scanner.
Click on the links to the right for a list of countries/destinations for which I have readily available stock images and for more info about how to license my work.
